The Events Industry Salary Survey 2020 is here!

Thank you to everyone who took part – your responses allowed us to draw some interesting conclusions and provide in-depth insights that we can all benefit from.

The survey looks at averages for basic salary, bonuses and commission, motivations and overall on-target earnings for each of the main job functions within the events industry: content, marketing, operations and sales.

We also take a look at mental health in the industry – we know that the events industry is high-pressure due to various factors including strict deadlines, multiple projects, stakeholder management and more. We asked three optional questions at the end of our survey to see just how event professionals are managing, and whether there is enough support in the events workplace.

 

Some key findings include:

  68% of people have had a pay rise in the last 12 months

  Pay is increasing proportionally for Operations staff

  The gender pay gap is reducing – but is still significant

  Workers don’t feel that their mental health is supported by their workplace
