GCN Talent is collaborating with the Global Conference Network to produce the 2020 Salary Survey for the events industry – and we’d like you to take part.

The previous edition of the Global Conference Network‘s salary survey reached over 15,000 events industry professionals, with respondents coming from a broad cross-section of functions. This provided a detailed picture of motivations and financial remuneration across the industry and highlighted useful and interesting trends when it comes to pay differences, job satisfaction and potential career movements.

We’re now looking to provide a detailed snapshot of and how the industry has progressed over the last four years and where it stands now – especially as a worryingly wide gender pay gap revealed itself in the 2016 edition, and with such an uncertain and changing business landscape ahead of us.

 

What will be covered in the survey?

We’ll be looking at averages for basic salary, bonuses and commission, motivations and overall on-target earnings (OTE) for each of the main job functions within the events industry – namely content, marketing, operations and sales.

But we won’t just be focusing on salary in this year’s edition; we’ll also be looking at mental health in the industry. It’s no secret that the events industry is a high-pressure one with strict deadlines, multiple projects, stakeholders to impress and so much to juggle. This is your opportunity to speak about your experiences of mental health and well-being in the workplace so that we can get the facts and figures in front of senior management figures – and together, we can highlight what needs to be done.

This, along with the salary survey results, will be presented at the Events Events 2020 to a wide audience of the industry’s key leaders and influential members. The full salary survey will then be available for request.
